Review of the Historical Museum of Serbia
The
Review is actually continuation of the Review of the First Serbian Uprising Museum, the first issue of which appeared in 1959. However,
only four issues under such title were revealed: No 1/1959, No 2/1960, and
No 3-4/1964-65. In 1968 the present title was accepted when No 5 was
published. The change of name was followed by the change of the Review’s
concept, which began to publish scientific and competent articles dealing
with the history of the Serbs and their history, as well as papers in
museology, reports on the Museum’s work, etc. Until 2004, 31 issues of the
Review have been published; on several occasions, due to the financial
limitations, it appeared as double issue. However, new concept was also followed
by certain alterations regarding the Review’s title: No 26, 27 and 28 were
published as the Review of the History Museums of Serbia, while the last two issues, No
29-30 and 31 had the old title. Separate issues were printed and attached
to No 17-18 (On the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the
First Serbian Uprising) and to No 19 (Museum displays and their
contribution to foster revolutionary traditions).
